Mission: To raise as much money as humanly possible for the Cornerstone Foundation in Belize, Central America.
I am a very nice person. To prove this beyond doubt, I will be volunteering for the HIV/AIDS programme at Cornerstone from October 2007 for at least three months. I plan to have as little expensive extra-curricular fun as I can bear, so hopefully it'll be longer than that, but my personal funds will only last so long, as I am yet to marry a millionaire. All your donations will go straight to Cornerstone, so even if I crack and have the occasional beer, rest assured your donations will not be spent on that. HIV/AIDS is an epidemic in Belize, and has the highest rate in Central America. The Cornerstone Foundation are a registered NGO in Belize and work closely with the UN, Red Cross and other well-known NGOs. I'll be using my fantabulous skills, dedication, determination, humour and kind-heartedness to work my arse off doing as much as I can in terms of fundraising, campaigning, education and advocacy. I know the Belizean Prime Minister's wife, so I've got contacts and I intend to use them! Please donate as much as you can. Sacrifice a few beers and/or cigarettes and donate to a good cause. I'll be doing lots of wacky fundraising things between now and October, so if you really need extra reasons to give money other than you have some to spare (oh yes you do!), then keep checking here for updates on all my painful/amusing/humiliating fundraising gigs over the next 5 months. www.peacecorner.org/cornerstone.htm |
